"Last night, so I poodled off to The Three Wishes to see "Map of China" Jim Byers & James Byers, plus Jack Irving/Drums, Andy 'Sewinsky/Bass and their 'Strat' toting Guitarist, Angie Antinori, put on a good show . This is a 'Power Rock' Band of the highest order, and the crowded Pub certainly appreciated their fine musicianship and vocals. Not afraid of vary'ing their 'set', we were treated to Guitar based Rock from Joe Walsh to The Faces (Large & Small!), and some interesting interpretations from the world of Soul Music, all at 'power-volume'. Three Guitarists might, to some, seem excessive, but the Telecaster/Les Paul Gibson/ Stratocaster players all knit together nicely with their vary'ing tones and styles. Based in North West London, Map of China unusually have a three guitar line
up, allowing twin guitar solos without detriment to the back line. Covering a
wide range of styles, MOC are a tight outfit who can turn their hand to
most genres of music. They play Rock, Soul, Blues, and good old fashioned Rock 'n' Roll.
